“Bitter Milk”, an Iranian film on the tragedy of war and the selling of children in Afghanistan, won the best film award at the Pentedattilo Film Festival.
The closing ceremony of the three-day Italian festival, which is dedicated to animated and short films, was held on September 18.
Directed by Nasser Zamiri, “Bitter Milk” is about the Aziz family and the many people of Afghanistan that have been displaced as a result of the war. In order to earn a living and after much suffering, the Aziz family along with other Afghan families decide to go to the Pakistani border with their infants.
The film was produced by the Khorasan Razavi Art Bureau.
Zamiri’s credits also include “Sky without Passport”, “A Cozy Place for Fish”, “Lullaby for Wakefulness” and “Third Person Singular”.
